The Foot Mechanics is a small, local business – part of the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce and has been serving the Durham Region and surrounding areas for over 30 years.
Here’s a look ‘behind the scenes’ in the lab where your custom orthotics are made.
As the founder and owner of The Foot Mechanics, Tom first became interested in pedorthics when he, himself needed orthotics while playing varsity football for the University of Waterloo in the Canadian Inter-university Sports league. Tom graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Business. He then became a certified pedorthist and currently belongs to the Pedorthic Association of Canada. Tom continues to advance his knowledge of the industry by participating in the association’s yearly conferences.
Tom is passionate about helping others and believes that every orthotic should be as unique as the needs of the individual wearing them. The Foot Mechanics team manufactures each orthotic on-site in our lab. Therefore, Tom is a major part of the process from beginning to end!
From the initial assessment to the finished product, each orthotic is fully custom, never mass-produced and always hand-made by our skilled tech and Tom himself.
