Tom will complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment;
reviewing your foot type, activity level and type, body composition factors and other relevant history.
In your assessment, Tom will also complete a gait analysis.
From the information gathered, Tom can begin to build a personalized treatment plan based upon your individual needs.
To manufacture your orthotics, Tom will begin by using an impression foam to make an impression of your feet.
The impression is then used to make a plaster-cast of your foot. This plaster cast is then used as a mould to create the shape of the orthotic itself.
Once the general orthotic shape has been finished, Tom will use his extensive knowledge, training and experience to customize the orthotic further to your unique needs.
Once the orthotics have been finished and customized to your individual needs, they can then be fit to your shoes of choice. Tom will ensure that the orthotics will fit into the shoes that you wish to wear them in and make any adjustments necessary to provide additional comfort.
To verify that the orthotics are supporting your needs in the best way possible, Tom suggests wearing them for 3 to 4 weeks (or less, if you have more immediate discomfort) and re-evaluating to have them adjusted, if necessary.

A follow-up appointment is required to have an adjustment done; however, due to the in-house nature of our manufacturing lab, we are able to do most adjustments while you wait, not leaving you without your orthotics for long. Tom offers one-year no-charge adjustments to ensure your satisfaction.
